Assessment frameworks

NAP sample assessments test students’ skills and understanding in science literacy, civics and citizenship and information and communication technology (ICT) literacy.

The content for each NAP sample assessment is defined according to a specific assessment framework. The frameworks help to provide test developers, state and territory education reviewers and policy makers with a clear definition of the scope and method of testing in each of the three domains included in the sample assessments. State, territory and federal governments have worked with other stakeholders to develop assessment frameworks which ensure the sample assessment data will maintain continuity through the years. For each NAP sample assessment, a definition of each assessment domain has been agreed by education ministers which has informed the development of each assessment framework. More information on the assessment framework for each NAP sample domain is available through the links below.
